Web Developer for the Forum for Ukrainian Studies
In September 2014, I began development on the Forum for Ukrainian Studies website, a brand new project from the Canadian Institute for Ukrainian Studies (CIUS). I was brought on to the project on the strength of my work on the Contemporary Ukraine Research Forum, also affiliated with the CIUS.
The project’s mandate is still under development, but to date it has served as a platform for conference announcements, disseminating lectures, hosting reviews of academic publications, and publishing original opinion pieces from CIUS scholars. An archive and library of research materials is also under development, with some materials already available through the site.
The Forum for Ukrainian Studies utilizes the WordPress CMS. To date, I have contributed the following to the site:
- Theme customization utilizing a child theme and CSS
- Advised on and implemented the website’s page structure
- Implemented the site’s menu and sidebar structure
- Implemented social media integration
- Set up Google Analytics and SEO
- Content updates, including blog posts, text widgets, and media files with all affiliated metadata
Website development is currently on hiatus for budgetary reasons, with resumption planned for January 2015.
